Large, overhanging mature trees in a section of White Rock State School created an ongoing flooding problem as the gutters on a number of buildings were regularly clogged with leaves and overflowed during rain events.
This caused significant and costly flood damage each time it occurred.
The problem was exacerbated by the fact that some of these trees were listed with the local council and could not be cut down.
Solution
After considering the size and type of foliage causing repeated flooding incidents, Blue Mountain Co’s 4mm Aluminium gutter mesh was chosen for installation across several school buildings.
White Rock State School’s maintenance manager has since reported that the installation was “a complete success”.
There is no longer any flooding from clogged gutters in the problem areas, leading to significant cost savings and reducing the burden of preventative maintenance.
